Learn how to use Unity 3D: one of the most popular game engines for immersive technologies. You will follow the app development lifecycle for research projects and cover the fundamentals of Unity 3D.You will explore the most important building blocks of Unity: game objects, scenes and prefabs. You will import assets into a scene and interact with them using a user interface (UI) to create a physics simulation. You will go on to set up a Virtual Reality scene (without a VR headset). We will look at the process for distributing and publishing an app. This course is an extract from the Summer School course taught by the Oxford X-Reality Hub, which inspired researchers creating new projects, papers and start-ups.
